The holding companies which are operating in Chile are integrated by Emdepes S.A. y Salmones Antartica S.A.

Fishing Development Company (Empresa de desarrollo Pesquero) in Chile, Emdepes S.A., is another company which is part of Nissui Suissan Kaisha group. It was established in October, 1978; and since that date it has been operating with factory ships in the Chilean austral zone, with a clear mission: To take advantage of the demersal austral fishery resources, turning them into tasty, healthy and high quality food, with a commitment in environmental care and natural resources, basic source of our productive activity.

Nowadays, salmon industry is one of the most important companies in Chile. Salmones Antartica S.A. is pioneer in the development of this sector, producing and processing the totality of its products from the beginning of 1982.

The culturing method used is cage rafts, which are located in Chiloe Island and in Puerto Aysen.

To guarantee the quality, Salmones Antartica begins the salmon cop with ova of its own production. Subsequently, the controlled process continues carefully in the “smoltificacion” and in the fattening stages; in addition, it is equipped with a modern Food Plant for fish located in Los Angeles city.
